The Ontario Wood Carvers Association (OWCA) held its 28th Annual Competition and Show at Black Creek Pioneer Village in late October 2007.
And what a show it was!
Carvers and visitors came from near and far, most from Canada some from the USA, and a few visitors from Europe and Australia used the opportunity of being at the right place at the right time to enjoy the wonderful wood sculptures exhibited by our artists.
The competition had well over a hundred entries, no single entry better than any other, making the four judges to work long and hard to select the best of the best.
Close to thirty artists displayed their wonderful works, and our vendors were kept busy by the carvers stocking up for the long winter nights of carving.
All this would not be possible without our dedicated volunteers. Therefore, on behalf of the OWCA’s executives, it is a great pleasure to express my heartfelt thanks for all of the outstanding contribution during both the preparation and the execution of our 28th Annual Competition and Show. The collective goal and working together to achieve it and achieving it creates unforgettable memories and the best feelings that we all together made it happen.
