Great Success!

Our first workshop was held at Humber at 6:30 pm in Room LX 104 on September 24, 2007. There were 26 of us participating in this workshop. The title was “Carve-along with Jan”. The presenter was Jan Oegema and he led us through carving facial features on a stick. The camera followed every cut of Jan's and we were seeing them all on the TV screen. We were able to repeat his cuts on our own stick. We did eyes, mouth, and ears. As Jan was advising and correcting the individual students, we had further opportunity to learn, since the camera also followed these instructions. We all had great fun, and looking forward to phase II of this workshop.

November 26 from 7 to 9 pm . “Carve-along with Jan” part II. Also at Humber Collage

November 26, 2007 produced the first “Canadian” snow storm. The weather was bad, roads conditions even worse. Still 12 of us made it. Practicing to carve the ears and nose, laughing and chatting with each other we all soon forgot about the cold outside.
